Temples and Buddhism, in general, are a staple part of the Thai diet. A trip to Pattaya is not the same without visiting the temples and icons that are a part of life. Please see a day-trip itinerary of three of the best Pattaya temples and cultural attractions in the region.

10 am – Vihara Sien Temple (Pattaya Temples)

A 30-minute drive to Bangsaray is a great way to start the day. Here you can visit what is the most unique temple in the Pattaya region. Vihara Sien is a Chinese-Thai temple complex located within luscious countryside near to Silverlake Vineyard on the banks of a large reservoir. Famous as being the King’s own project, the main temple is akin to a museum with many Chinese artifacts. And even a full scaled-down version of the famous Terracotta Army. Check out the art, sit by the banks of the reservoir and absorb cultural Thailand.

2 pm – Romance of the Three Kingdoms Park

On your way back from Bangsaray, head towards Lake Mabprachan. Here you can visit the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Park. Constructed by a Thai-Chinese businessman who wanted to detail China’s long history, the park was built with feng shui geometrics, showcasing beautiful Chinese architecture. With a vast-array of Chinese marble statues and artworks, the countryside location and culture come together to create this masterpiece.

5 pm – Big Buddha Pratumnak

Perhaps the most famous Buddhist temple and shrine in Pattaya, the Big Buddha, is located on Pratumnak Hill. It sits aloft the tallest hill in the city, overlooking the ocean and Pattaya in its entirety. The views are worth the visit by itself. The imposing golden Buddha image ensures flocks of tourist and pilgrims visit on a daily basis. Make an offering to Buddha or the monks and pray for good luck. Visit this temple during the late-afternoon is you can hang around to catch the sunset from the best vantage point.

If you are looking to explore more in Pattaya than just bars, beaches, and nightlife entertainment, this day trip is perfect for you. Check out these interesting Pattaya temples to widen your horizons in the city.
